1984, JOHN SMITH

In 1984, John Smith started a woodworking business in a barn behind his home in San Francisco, CA. Originally a builder of custom cabinetry and church pews, he began crafting small occasional tables from the fine, leftover wood. In 1987, John and his team completed their biggest order.

It was given to them by a traveling salesman and consisted of 25,000 pieces of furniture, a goal seemingly impossible to accomplish. However, this exact order opened John and his team a way to national cooperation with other companies that were looking for high quality woodworking services.

I was always passionate about woodworking. Wood has always attracted me, and when I grew up I decided to put my woodworking skills to use and benefit. When I have gathered a team of craftsmen, we started to take orders from locals, and that’s when our story began.

1990, FIRST INVESTMENTS

1990 was a great year for our company! With financial stability just about recovered, we were going to invest, first in the workforce, but also in our first plant with new workshops, which was modest but really designed with creative production in mind.

At the end of the century, production was going full-force as was the national economy. However, the economic climate at certain point went into a period of economical improvement, which led our company to expanding the facilities to other cities and states.

01.

We built a new plant in San Diego, especially designed to manufacture what we thought at the time.

02.

At the same time, for the custom-designed products, our designer department gave birth to the new range of kitchen furniture.

03.

On the other side, we attracted new members into our team who made a great contribution into our company’s development.

1995-2001, PROSPEROUS YEARS

These six years were decisive. Of course, from the beginning, we were investing in export of our products insofar as our resources would permit, setting up a network of dealers, in particular in the United States, with the exception of Asia and Europe, where we opened subsidiaries.

The aim of this was to establish our brand, but especially to understand the consumer’s tastes worldwide by being present on site. We also continued to pay a lot of attention to our native customers, residing in various industrial states of the US as well as in other regions that needed quality furniture.

Just wanted to let you know that we have found your company to have a good selection of new and used office furniture. Your staff have been friendly and helpful so your company will be our first port-of-call when looking for future office requirements."

2004, INTRODUCING NEW TECHNOLOGIES

UV finish technology was added for select furniture lines in 2004. The UV finish is used even nowadays as it produces a more durable and attractive finish for a better quality, longer lasting product at a competitive price. It is also considered environmentally safe.
